Who I Am
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Christian Counselor with over 20 years of experience helping adolescents, individuals, couples and families learn and create healthier ways of being in good, solid relationships. Together in counseling, using a family systems approach (also CBT- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy), I help clients learn new skills such as boundaries, effective communication and emotional expression. Holding on to bitterness and anger or emotionally shutting down are common ways we often deal with hurt, loss, abuse or trauma. Counseling offers other ways of coping and positively moving forward with those difficult and often devastating life events. My heart desire is to provide a safe and comfortable place to uniquely help each person experience healing and wholeness. I use biblical principles in therapy such as grace and forgiveness. "All things are possible with God". I have been married for 28 years. My husband and I have two teenagers and a black Labrador Retriever fur baby. My family has enjoyed living in Iowa, Maryland, England and Colorado. My hobbies include hiking, tennis, reading, Holy Yoga, traveling and chillaxing over a cup of coffee with my twin sister.
